Eighty years ago, Gretsch completed sketch number 1382 in the Arzberg model book with a final pencil stroke: It was the final rejection of impractical, ornate tableware and at the same time a clear yes to functional, aesthetically beautiful everyday porcelain: the good shape for every day. Shape 1382 is one of the absolute classics of modern industrial design and is one of very few porcelain shapes that can even be found in the Museum of Modern Arts in New York.
