A few years ago, Barbara Freundlieb, a native of the Rhineland, found her way to painting and illustration. After starting a family in Krefeld, the biologist with a doctorate began her artistic training at private art academies. She regularly organizes exhibitions, illustrates books and poems, and puts everything she encounters in everyday life on paper.
Observing human and interpersonal relationships and looking at oneself from a distance provide the inspiration for her drawings. Bringing everyday situations to life with a sharpened pencil on white paper is always exciting for her.
