The blade shape developed by Tim Mälzer also serves as the design template for the Tim Mälzer KAMAGATA series, which includes an office, all-purpose, chef's, bread and ham knife. The series also offers the classic European chef's knife and a Santoku blade shape. The name Kamagata is derived from the Japanese (in German: sickle-shaped) and underlines the peculiar curvature of the Tim Mälzer blade.
The blades in the series are forged from 4116 steel with 58 HRC, which is particularly corrosion-resistant due to its alloying elements. The satin finish of the blades is complemented by the black, ergonomic handle made of polished POM (polyoxymethylene - a construction material that is also used for precision engineering). Its oval, symmetrical shape is suitable for left- and right-handed users.
